While I’m gathering more information about the new additions to Team Seacats this year, I thought I’d take a moment to turn the spotlight on our good buddies over at Team Cat Fever. They’re still developing their web site so in the meantime I’ll be covering the Tybee 500 on their behalf as well. Skipper Todd Hart was kind enough to provide me a CV of their sailing experience and bios to publish here on to the whirledwide web. They’re going to be a great team, considering their years of experience in long distance races, plus their good natured personalities.

Todd has been sailing since 1970 and racing catamarans since 1991. He has finished four Worrell 1000’s (years 1999 through 2002), two Tybee 500’s, the Outer Banks 500, ten year’s worth of the Key Largo Steeplechase, seven Down the Bays, and eight Chesapeake 100’s, among others. Obviously no stranger to distance racing, Todd has just begun racing an A-Cat. He is Vice Commodore of the Dogtown Yacht Club in Richmond, Va. and sails with the Outer Banks Catamaran Club. Todd resides in the Outer Banks on Roanoke Island, NC with wife Jackie, daughter Kiersten, and a Chesapeake Bay retriever named Widgeon. He is self employed as a trim carpenter.

Serving as crew for this year’s Cat Fever is also a seasoned sailor who’s experienced the Tybee 500 firsthand in the past as a member of the Howard’s Pub team in 2003. Of course, I’m referring to Jeff LoSapio, who was bitten by the catamaran bug fifteen years ago and began sailing competitively for the past eight. He has also sailed in several Steeplechases, C100’s, and other distance races. Jeff is a member of the West River Catamaran Association which is based in Galesville, MD. Like Todd (and Jake!), Jeff is most recently sailing an A-Cat. After taking a hiatus from sailing to spend time with his two young kids (son Matt and daughter Caitlin), he’s eager to once again dive headlong into a competition like the Tybee 500. He resides in Herndon, VA with his kids, wife Kristy, and is employed in the software security industry.

Cat Fever’s Team Manager is Kevin Lineberger, who sailed catamarans as a youth but now races keel boats and sports boats. He lives in Southern Shores in the Outer Banks and works as an estimator for a local developer.

Known as the Boat Dude, Stokes Seeger is a veteran Ground Crew member for the Tybee 500. This is not an easy job but somehow these guys make it seem like a party. Residing in Colington Harbor in the Outer Banks, Stokes sails a Hobie 16 and races a Henderson 30.
