I used to own one of these. The N20 we now race in the Tybee is a little bit more of an offshore machine but there is no other boat that will make you stand up and “slap yo mama” while sailing a hot reach like the Nacra 6.0NA. When sailing on a monoslug goes awry. At least on the cat when things go wrong we typically end up capsized and going nowhere fast. I love it where the skipper says “I have nothing!” (I’m known for “I got nothing!” but that’s usually in light air when I’m getting passed by someone who has a personal puff of breeze or when a sea creature has caused the leeward rudder to pop up). I do wonder, however, when sailing in 20 knots why they don’t have the hatch boards in place to prevent water intrusion down below?
Sorry for the inactivity around here for the last couple of weeks - Bonnie and I got hitched and have been enjoying ourselves for a bit…things are getting back to normal now and we’re gearing up to drag the Team Seacats Nacra 20 to Key Largo for the Key Largo Steeplechase soon!
