The Sled!

A friend relayed a link to this site where some incredible model molds are being made. This guy has been at this project for four years! It’s pretty intense – be prepared to spend some time! It’s a 13 foot mold for a Blackbird SR71 and will have genuine turbines in it. Initially, I thought the guy was crazy and then I considered some of the projects I work on….His effort and skill is certainly appreciable. Click to see The Sled!

I have been busy keeping up with household duties and will probably get back to our US One Meter plug tomorrow. I’m waiting for some tooling gel coat to come in so I can start the female mold construction – but there’s still plenty more to do with the plug. The gel coat is really soft on the plug and the stern is not as fair as I would have liked. So I’m going to quickly sand the entire plug and do some testing to figure out what is causing my gel coat delima before spraying another couple of coats on it.
