Wow!” What a final ride! Running my 4th Tybee 500 - it was clearly the most fun and rewarding. Jake Kohl is a superb sailor and a class act to be around. You think you know most everything about sailing until someone like Jake comes along and teaches me more about the sport. As for the “blue boat,” Jake provided us with a brand new Nacra 20 to ride on this year - not only does it look new, it performs like a new boat - Thanks Jake for your countless hours of hard work and tuning. You made this week a great one!

Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Kohl, Tim Owens, my dear friend Daryl Moss (ground crewing his 4th Tybee!) and lastly and most importantly, Bonnie - you were our glue all week - thanks for your support and the wonderful web postings!

To my lovely wife Monica who came to Hollywood for her 1st Tybee - Thank you for you support - next year I’m keeping you for the week. Zach (9), Jonah(6) and Costa(3) - I’m already working on a way to get you boys to FLA for 2007 (Velocity - I need a Nanny for the week!!!!!!!!).

Tybee/Worrell veterans: Jamie, Brian, Jay, JC, Steve, Trey, Tad, Mark, Tom, Terry, Chris, Jared (awesome job, Jared - Awesome job!!!!), Doug & Andy - my favorite part of each day is hanging after the leg - talking sailing - life - whatever - I hope you’ll all be back.

Cat N’ the Hat: You guys are what the race is about - get back next year - you are what brings people every year.

For 2007: “Come one - Come all Catamaran sailors.” Find a way - Find a way and do it!!!!!! It’s a week you’ll cherish forever - Find a way and do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No more what ifs - maybes - Find a way and do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It only gets more addictive each year!

P.S. John, Chuck and Brian - Thank you for your professional efforts all week - you guys did a great job. For our last night together Friday/Saturday - Chuck, I will remember your Auburn life jacket run always - having heard a few stories in my day....that one has Pulitzer potential. John, it is Sunday afternoon May 21, 2006 in Pittsburgh, PA - temperature is a frosty 60 degrees (but sunny) - I am still tasting that rancid gravy burger - - - I think I might be getting too old for sausage and gravy burgers at 4:00 a.m.

Great coverage by Bonnie and the rest of the team - excellent descriptive recaps, Jake. The Seacats were a delight to spend time with on the beach. Hope Daryl has managed to wipe the smile off his face from the Friday night party. And thanks to Frank, I now know the culinary joy of burgers with sausage gravy at 3AM. Great trip this year - hope to do it again with you guys.

In all seriousness - fantastic job. The preparation and consistent sailing put you guys in the silverware. I can't tell you how happy that makes me.

No real problems at all - we did occasionally shorten a line or tighten a bunji but that was pretty much it. Frank and I discussed a couple different rigging options we might try in the future to make things even more user friendly that we will try in the future.

Congrats Jake,
That is awesome. Any problems with the boat develop? You seemed pretty thorough., just wondering if you would have done something different.
