Team Seacats

1/4 of Team Seacats is going to sail in this year’s Tybee 500! An offer came from www.sailmax.biz with boat and entry fee and Jake is going to sail with long time Worrell 1000 veteran Carl Roberts beginning on May 8th in Hollywood, FL! Bonnie is traveling too to document the race here and on the SailMax website. It’s a short time to get everything together for such an involved 6 day race covering Florida’s eastern seaboard but confidence and excitement is high.

The Tybee500 has been over for a little over a week. Jake and Carl overcame adversity, rebuilt a boat, hit a large fish jamming a dagger board, timed a wave and skimmed over an exposed rock jetty, and sailed together for the first time to finish a respectable 6th place. For now, it’s back to our spring time regatta schedule here in the South East U.S.A. and we’ll keep the stories and updates rolling.

The Alter Cup is over, everyone is back home. What an awesome experience for all involved! It was the most seamless and enjoyable week of racing we’ve ever experienced. We’ll work hard to try and qualify again next year!
